My fiancé and I have 2 chinchillas. They have a house upstairs in one of our spare bedrooms. Our house gets very warm in the summer time but it always stays cool downstairs. Chinchillas need to stay cool at all times so we decided to move them down stairs. I went out and found them a new cage that would make them happy. After we had the new cage it was time to move them in to there new home. We put the cage where we wanted it and then took them to there new home.
I am so glad that we moved them! I was always worried about them getting too warm upstairs and now we do not have to worry about anything! It is so nice to not worry about our little friends. I think they are happy in there new home because it is always cool and usually dark downstairs. They are nocturnal so they sleep during the day and they stay up all night.
Another perk to moving them downstairs is that they no longer keep us up at night. When they were upstairs sometimes they would get really loud at night. Now if I hear sounds at night I know it either our two chocolate labs or it is our Himalayan cat.
