Training Your Pet

brian2 I have 2 dogs and sometimes they are hard to control! Both dogs are chocolate labs. JC is the older dog he is six years old and he is much calmer then Hershey who is only three years old. Both dogs love to go on walks.

Over the years my fiancé and I have trained our dogs to be out in public. One thing that we have taught them is that when other dogs are around to mind there own business. We taught them this by pulling our dogs close every time other dogs are near, also by getting angry at them every time another dog was around and they reacted negatively.

Another thing that we have taught our dogs is to sit when we tell them to sit and heal when we give them the command to heal. We have taught them this by training them over and over again with the same commands. We also give them a dogie treat every time they do what they are told.

Anytime you want to train your pet the key is repetition. Also rewarding them when they are good and punishing them when they are bad is very important. Next time you are training your pet I hope these concepts help you with your progress!
