Going to the Park

dog-park My fiancé and I love to take our dogs to the park. We have two large chocolate labs. It works out well because I can walk one of the dogs and he can walk the other dog. I always walk JC because he is a few years older and a more laid back dog. My fiancé walks Hershey because she is the younger dog and a lot harder to control.

Whenever it is a nice day and we have some free time we take them for walks. It is always a process to get them all set up to go for a walk, but once we go through all the steps we are ready to go! First we have to get both of there collars on and attach there leash to there collar. After we manage to get there collars around there neck we have to take them either through the house or out the back door, until they have freedom at last! Once we get them outside of our backyard they are always so excited.

They know that it is walk time; they also know that if they are lucky we are all going to the park. We walk them down the street and then from there, there is a trail that we take to get to the park. It is called the “Spring Water Trail.” We follow the trail, that is a cement path and it leads us down a trail surrounded by trees and grass. Right before the park there is a wood bridge that we have to cross. Once we cross the bridge we are nearly a few blocks from the park.

When we get to the park there is a stream that the dogs love to swim in. We walk them over to an area where they can get in the water and watch them jump in. I think that swimming is one of there most favorite things to do! After they play in the water they know it is time for the walk home. Cooled off by there swim they are always excited to head back home and sleep after a day at the park.
